Remember to make use of your ISA allowance for the tax year 2009/10, please contact us for further advice.
Changes to the ISA allowance.
ISAs
- The ISA limit is increasing to £10,200 held in Stocks & Shares and £5,100 held in Cash. This is with effect from 6th October 2009 for anyone over the age of 50. For people under the age of 50, it will be available with effect from the start of the next tax year which is 2010/2011.
- Investors can therefore invest in a full stocks and shares ISA for £10,200, or, as an alternative they can invest £5,100 in a Cash ISA.
Pensions
- As from 6th April 2008, please be aware that the basic rate of tax is reducing from 22% to 20% and this means that your regular pension contributions will increase slightly to reflect this lower rate of tax relief
